Будущий русский ученый родился в многодетной семье, он был семнадцатым ребенком. В детстве Менделеев не отличался усердием в учебе, и латынь была для него самым трудным предметом. На первом курсе основного педагогического института нерадивый ученик провалил все экзамены, кроме математики. Все изменилось, когда он закончил учебу : Менделеев увлекся химией. Он защитил диссертацию и вел научную работу в Германии и России.
Mendeleev: The Path to Chemistry
The future Russian scientist was born into a large family; he was the seventeenth child. In his childhood, Mendeleev did not show diligence in his studies, and Latin was the most difficult subject for him. In his first year at the Main Pedagogical Institute, the negligent student failed all exams except mathematics. Everything changed when he completed his studies: Mendeleev became fascinated by chemistry. He defended his dissertation and carried out scientific work in Germany and Russia.
